Class One Aliens

During Brilliant Behaviour week Class One made these fantastic aliens from the natural materials we have in the classroom. They were able to describe them and talk about the features that would make them friendly aliens.
Alex said his alien has big hands and small hands and also big ears to listen very well.
Amy said that her alien has a snail living on his tummy and he looks after it.
Carrick said his alien has really big arms because he broke on in his spaceship. He has a big smiley face.
Charlie said his alien has big ears to listen and he bends his hair down to stroke people.
Connie said her alien hasn't got a mouth so he writes kind letters to people - even at his house.
Esme said her alien is having a baby (because boy aliens can have babies). He has a big smile and rainbow hair.
Gabriel said his alien is kind because he lets his friends play video games with him.
Grace said her alien can send both his arms to different places so he can go to two parties at the same time.
Guran said that his alien is kind because he plays with him.
Hugo said his alien has sucker feet that suck all the badness up and put goodness down.
Jake said his alien has big doggy ears to hear his friends.
Mia said her alien catches the ball with his friends and he strokes them because he is kind.
Oliver said his alien listens to people and tickles them and plays vampires with them.
Pollyanna said her alien is friendly because he plays with the boys.
Zara said her alien has lots of ears so he can hear different friends. He is loving, helpful, kind and sweet and he stands up for other aliens who are being bullied.

Dragon Details

The children in Class 3 have been reading the novel 'How to Train Your Dragon'. We used the book as a stimulus for our art work. Look closely and you will begin to see fangs, scales and dragon's eyes staring at you!

Harvest Paintings by Class One

Some of the children in Class 1 chose to do a paining this week to celebrate harvest. They also used them to help tell the story of our harvest song to the rest of the school and families in our Celebration Assembly.

Class 4 Tudor 'paintings'

Here is a selection of some of our fantastic recent Tudor portriats created using digital photo editing software (Photoshop) at the CLC centre. Pupils choose a background image, then created another layer using a green-screen photgraph so that the picture could have their head in place of the original. After this, pupils were able to resize and rotate the head; change skin tone on the photograph (or the hands on the original) to match; add facial hair from the original painting or elsewhere (just the boys did this!); and add a very subtle painting style filter to make the modern part less obviously a photograph. I think you'll agree this work is of a stunning quality. We will be putting a display up in the shortly with several more so please do come in and have a look. If you don't you might get beheaded - you've been warned.....

Me and my shadow

Quick! The sun is out! Class 3 took advantage of a break in the clouds to get sketching. As you can see, the results are very impressive.
