Class One were inspired, after looking at Chinese art, to make these beautiful Mothers' Day pictures. They combined two different painting techniques over a couple of days. First, they had to put a colour wash on their paper with the thin water colour paints and a big soft brush. They all chose a colour they thought their Mum would like.
Then they applied the thicker paint with cotton buds to complete their design.
The Chinese symbol next to their art work was chosen, whilst thinking about their Mum, and copied carefully by the children.
We put the symbols inside the cards along with their greeting.
We put the Chinese symbol for Mother on the front of our cards.
